Virginians for Offshore Wind Welcomes Wilson Pipe & Fabrication
Virginians for Offshore Wind is happy to share that Wilson Pipe & Fabrication has just joined as the newest member of our coalition. Wilson Pipe & Fabrication is a full-service welding and fabrication company that has contracted with DEME to build critical equipment parts for the Orion – the offshore installation vessel working on the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project.
With over 50 years of combined technical experience in public and private sectors, Wilson Pipe & Fabrication is playing an integral part in keeping Virginia Beach’s offshore wind project on time and on budget. Brandon Wilson, owner of Wilson Pipe & Fabrication, is a Norfolk native, an Apprentice School graduate and a former pipefitter at the Newport News Shipyard.
“Considering that offshore wind is a new and quickly growing industry in Hampton Roads, Wilson Pipe & Fabrication’s expertise makes it an incredibly valuable partner in the region,” said Kelsey Van Horne, spokesperson for Virginians for Offshore Wind. “Virginia businesses are stepping up to the plate to propel offshore wind forward. We are excited to have such an integral local business join our efforts for a more sustainable Virginia.”
“Offshore wind is a major economic driver for our region,” said Brandon Wilson. “Wilson Pipe & Fabrication is excited to be part of this landmark investment in clean energy generation, and we look forward to working with Virginians for Offshore Wind to ensure the work continues to power Virginia’s homes and businesses with reliable, clean, affordable energy.”
Our coalition is growing quickly, and we invite others who support the offshore wind industry to join us in advocating for its advancement in our region so that we can see it continue to thrive.
