Virginians For Offshore Wind Applauds Dominion Energy Acquisition of Kitty Hawk North Wind

ARLINGTON, Virginia (July 8, 2024) – Virginians for Offshore Wind today issued the following statement applauding Dominion Energy’s announcement that it has reached an agreement to acquire the Kitty Hawk North Wind offshore wind lease from Avangrid.

“Virginians for Offshore Wind applauds Dominion Energy for expanding its offshore wind initiatives with the acquisition of CVOW-South,” said Kelsey Van Horne, Virginians for Offshore Wind spokesperson. “Building on the success of the original CVOW project, today’s news demonstrates continued momentum behind job-creating offshore wind. The investment will help address the region’s growing energy demands and make our power grid cleaner and more reliable. It’s an exciting day.”
